Paris

Paris, home to The Louve was once a fortress (palace) in the 12th century. Remnants are in the basement. I did not see this before so I would like to. It became a museum during the French Revolution. The glass pyramid entrance was very prominent in the movie, “The Divinci Code”.

The collections of importance, to me anyway, are:

Egyptian – Including the sphinz from 2340BC, the Gebel el-Arak Knife from 3400 BC.The Seated Scribed 2500BC.

Near Eastern Antiquities – From early Babylonian Ur (where Abraham is from) is the Lamassu. Hammurabi’s Code, the oldest written law in the world.
