Mozart’s Family Birthplace

No visit to Salzburg is complete without a visit inside of Mozart’s family birthplace. Take the time to do it. P.S. That’s me, leaning up against the door. This was the last place on the tour and my feet hurt.

Opening & Closing Scene Hills of the Sound of Music

When we were at Eagle’s Nest, the tour guide pointed out these grassy plains. He told us that is where they shot the opening and closing scenes in The Sound of Music where Maria and then the entire family were running.

Felsenreitschule, Salzburg

Here, the Trapp Family performed its farewell songs and escaped to Switzerland. Felsenreitschule (literally “rock riding school”) is a theatre in Austria and the site of the Salzburg Festival.
